Anti Corruption Movement: Are you 'really' IN?
The whole country talking about Anti-Corruption, oops, it should be Anna Hazare, isn’t it?
I thought i should not be left out of race, that’s why i am writing this blog. Before I 'actually' support the movement, let me pen down my un'realistic' facts.
Till now, everyone, from layman to highly educate talked, about corruption and questioned the government on how to curb it? But no one, including me, did what Anna doing now. Hats off to him. And, but not the lease, we should appreciate the overwhelming support from the public which actually intensified the movement.
Now, why Anna doing fasting? Simply to accept 'JanLokpal Bill', which has been drafted by 'so called' society members. Because, people felt it is far superior to the bill which has been drafted by present government. I accepted in fact.
Now, does the bill really help in reducing corruption? Can we see corruption free country? People argue that 'Yes' because it has the powers to question PM, CBI, Judicial System, Parliament, CM, Assembly and Bureaucrats etc. That means you are saying only those may/may not corrupt, isn’t it?
But how about 'WE'? The 'unacceptable' fact is that we 'are' part of corruption and we only made it big. I know you wonder and but let me explain.
We planned a journey and didn’t get the confirmed ticket. The only thing in our mind was "let me talk to TTE and 'manage' if the trip is unavoidable,”. I am sure you won’t deny.
We need passport and the process typically takes 3-4 months to get it. So, we will search for Agents to get it done by 'somehow'. I guess you won’t ask any evidence. So, do i need to mention more examples?
'WE' made the corruption an integral part of system. Actually speaking, no individual, from bureaucrats to politicians, will ask for bribe. But we, in hurry of making things easier to ourselves' encourages it and they will get used it. Unfortunately, it has become bottleneck to our country's growth.
But now, we want the corruption to end by means of prosecuting politicians and bureaucrats. How funny it is? Mr Anna tagged this as 'second freedom movement', and I truly refuse this. Mr Mahatma started 'Satyagraha movement' against British then. But today, we are fighting against our politicians (we voted them: without we they might not be in power) and ourselves (we made it big: Without we, Corruption would not exists).
I want everyone to think twice before they actually support the movement. The change should come from within 'you' not from the laws/regulations. They exist on piece of paper. Today 'janlokpal bill' may strong, but once we find out the loopholes, it is useless. Even if another Mahatma or Anna comes, the history would repeat itself.
I am sure i am not 'really' eligible to support, but i wish i will try to be from now onwards. I request everyone to retrospect yourselves and cooperate in achieving 'true' intentions behind the movement. Your support should not just limit to wear Anna Hats/T Shirts, participate in rallies/dharnas and express support over networking sites.
Had i not born, i could not be able to see United India on these kinds of issues.
I love my country. Jai Hind
